FAQ's

What is the difference between single and double glazed glass partitions?+

Single glazed partitions use one pane of glass and are typically used where acoustic performance is less critical. Double glazed partitions use two panes with an air gap, delivering substantially higher acoustic ratings — ideal for private rooms, executive offices, and boardrooms.

What acoustic performance can glass partition systems achieve?+

Optima glass partition systems achieve acoustic ratings from Rw 36 dB on single-glazed configurations up to Rw 53 dB on our highest-performing double-glazed systems — comparable to blockwork partitions.

Can I customise the design of a glass partition system?+

Every Optima system supports a range of finishes, framing options, and integrated door types. Use the configurator on each system page to specify your preferred glazing, framing colour, and door style.

What is a deflection head and why is it important?+

A deflection head is a structural detail at the top of the partition that allows the building structure above to move (deflect) without transferring load into the glass. It prevents glass breakage and acoustic compromise as the structure flexes over time.

How do I choose the right glass partition system?+

Start with the performance requirements (acoustic rating, fire rating, max height), then refine by aesthetic preference (framing style, glazing thickness) and integration needs (door types, accessories). Our team can help — use the enquiry form on any system page.
